Ecological bag project

Ecological bags are a new type of material in slope engineering, made of double-sided ironed needle punched non-woven fabric processed from polypropylene (PP) or polyester fiber (PET) as raw materials. The thickness, unit weight, physical and mechanical properties, shape, fiber type, stress mode, direction, geometric size, water permeability and equivalent pore size to meet plant growth of the anti ultraviolet ecological bag are strictly screened. It has the characteristics of anti ultraviolet (UV), anti-aging, non-toxic, non combustion supporting, and non extension of the crack, which truly realizes zero pollution. Mainly used for constructing flexible ecological slopes.

Moisture resistance


The raw materials of ecological bags do not absorb moisture, and when moisture appears, it will not damage the bag. The bag will not deform and is insoluble in contaminated liquids (EPA Method 9090, US Environmental Protection Agency).


Chemical corrosion resistance (pH)


Extensive research and testing have shown that ecological bags have strong resistance to certain concentrations of acidic and alkaline chemicals, and can be used in the vast majority of solid and heavily polluted areas.


Anti biodegradation and animal destruction


Ecological bags use special formula materials that do not support, absorb, or aid in the growth of fungi, and do not rot, mold, or spoil. Ecological bags will not be digested by insects and related animals, and will not become food for gnawing animals (mice), termites, moths, beetles, silverfish moths, etc.


UV resistant polymer


Ecological bags can withstand temperatures of up to 150 degrees Celsius without melting, and can withstand temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius.

The ecological bag contains carbon ink and other UV resistant ingredients.

Advantages and Characteristics


In slope engineering, this new type of material can completely replace materials such as stone and cement, greatly reducing project costs. The slope after construction has a surface that can be covered by vegetation, achieving a green effect on the excavated slope and forming a natural ecological slope. It has a filtering function that is permeable to water and impermeable to soil. The slope formed in this way has high permeability and strong protection and stability against soil erosion, local mud (soil) and stone flow, slope collapse, etc. It can become a permanent high stability natural slope.

The formula for calculating the volume of soil formed in ecological bags is:


Length=length of ecological bag - (12~15) cm,


Width=width of ecological bag * 0.7


Height=height of ecological bag * 0.4


For example, a bag with an outer diameter specification of 810mm * 430mm, after being filled with soil, has approximately a length of 65cm, a width of 30cm, and a height of 15cm (the specifications of the ecological bag and the formed specifications after being filled with soil can be designed according to actual requirements. The maximum allowable deviation is 2%)


Technical indicators reference


At present, there are no national or industry standards for ecological bags in China. The technical parameters refer to the national standard GB/T 17639-2008 for long filament spunbond needle punched nonwoven geotextiles of the People's Republic of China.
